According to China import and export report China bauxite imports are 3851.5 thousand tons in August, growth of 54.94% yoy, and 3743.1 thousand tons in July. From the beginning of this year, total import has been 28295.3 thousand tons, growth of 44.62% yoy.
Indonesia, Australia, India and Germany are the main import countries for China. At the beginning of September, someone said Indonesia imposed restriction on bauxite export, but from the continued high import volume, and from the alumina factory implementation scheduling in Indonesia,it seems less likely that such a phenomenon can happen.
