
Ulsan Aluminum Limited has joined ASI as new Production and Transformation member, bringing the total number of ASI Members to 173. The company is a joint venture between Novelis and Kobe Steel.

“Joining ASI and working to receiving ASI certifications for both the Performance Standard and the Chain of Custody for Ulsan Aluminum represents an important step in our commitment to sustainability. With this we are also supporting our parent companies, Novelis and Kobe Steel in their commitment to sustainability, transparent reporting and customer-focused achievement,” said Jerry Quick, President & CEO, Ulsan Aluminum Ltd.
Ulsan Aluminum, based in Korea, produces automotive and specialty sheet to meet the increasing demand for lightweight rolled aluminium products across Asia.
The company is jointly owned and operated and shares production capacities and each company is responsible for its own aluminium metal supply, production processes and certifications.
The Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) is a global, multi-stakeholder, non-profit standards setting and certification organisation that aims to recognise and foster the responsible production, sourcing and stewardship of aluminium.
