In an effort to strengthen their 40-year relationship, Constellium and CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research) intend to build a joint laboratory together with the University of Grenoble Alpes (UGA). The purpose of this unit will be to experiment and design new categories of aluminium alloys.

The new laboratory would be named, 3ALP which will depend on the technical prowess of the Science and Engineering of Materials and Processes (SIMaP) research laboratory to frame the composition of aluminium alloys and superlative methods such as additive manufacturing.
After the amalgamation and formation of 3ALP, high-end machinery and modelling tools will automatically arm Constellium along with added insight from SIMaP scientists in different fields, such as the microstructural and multi-physical specification of materials, instrumental design and development of artificial intelligence tools.
The former collaborations, Constellium, the CNRS and UGA aspire to use the 3ALP laboratory to expand their research on aluminium products.

They plan on developing and applying revolutionary methodologies to invent new aluminium-based products that come in handy in the competitive metal market for years to come.
The metallurgy industry faces one of the most impending challenges since its inception with the rising inclination toward the Net-Zero protocol.
