
The US exports of crude metal and alloys decreased 2.87% to 20,300 tonnes in March, as compared to 20,900 tonnes in March 2019, according to the latest Mineral Industry Survey report from the US Geological Survey. On a month-on-month comparison, exports climbed by 6.8% from February’s exports of 19,000 tonnes.

Crude metal and alloys exports in the US totalled 55,900 tonnes in the first quarter of 2020, a decrease of 9.4% from 61,700 tonnes in the first quarter of 2019.
The US exports of total aluminium (semi-finished products, crude metals and alloy and scrap) from the US stood at 254,000 tonnes in March 2020, a drop of 2.31% from 260,000 tonnes in March 2019. Exports rose by 8% from February’s imports of 236,000 tonnes.
In Q1 2020, total exports including scrap came in at 720,000 tonnes, a decrease of 2.83% from 741,000 tonnes exported in Q1 2019.
