Bolstering the aluminium dyes portfolio
The agreement, signed on August 24, 2026, is for the purchase of assets related to the aluminium dyes and chemicals manufacturing plant in Muttenz. The transaction is valued at CHF 7 million, with inventory to be purchased separately in accordance with the terms of the agreement.
The facility has historically manufactured products from Sudarshan Chemical Group’s Aluminium Dyes portfolio, including Sanodal®, Sanodure®, Sanodye® and Anodal®.
Sudarshan aims to acquire manufacturing operations to gain greater control over production and help it increase its presence in the specialised aluminium dyes market.
Acquisition strengthens dominance of key product lines
Aluminium dyes are used in the finishing of anodised aluminium to provide colour and durability to components used in automotive, consumer electronics, packaging and industrial applications.
Sudarshan Chemical is already present in the global aluminium dyes segment via its existing operations and regional partnerships. The Muttenz acquisition will strengthen its manufacturing capacity and provide it with greater control over the production of its established aluminium dye portfolio.
The deal also turns an existing supply agreement into a direct manufacturing operation and strengthens the company's operational presence in Europe.
The transaction will be structured as an asset transaction, and not as the acquisition of Clariant Additives (Switzerland) AG.
Sudarshan will acquire certain assets required for the production of aluminium dyes and related chemicals under the Asset Sale and Transfer Agreement. Payment shall be made in accordance with the terms of the transaction agreed upon, subject to satisfaction of specified conditions mentioned.
The acquisition is a strategic step taken by Sudarshan to expand its manufacturing work of aluminium dyes and other capabilities.
