SMM A00 ingot price closes week with RMB40/t hike after bearish stance on Thursday; Low-carbon aluminium adds RMB16/t
On December 8, the Shanghai Metals Market witnessed a slow boost in aluminium prices, with the SMM A00 aluminium ingot price gaining RMB 40 per tonne to rest at RMB 18,520 per tonne. The average aluminium prices have circulated between RMB 18,500 per tonne and RMB 18,540 per tonne.
China’s central provinces all have witnessed escalating prices today, with the aluminium price rising the highest in Hangzhou by RMB 50 per tonne to close at RMB 18,520 per tonne. Other than that, areas like Gongyi, Foshan, Wuxi, Chongqing and Linyi have all experienced RMB 40 per tonne surge.

Wuxi: RMB 18,500 per tonne
Chongqing: RMB 18,570 per tonne
Linyi: RMB 18,620 per tonne
Lastly, in Shenyang, the aluminium price soared by RMB 20 per tonne to arrive at RMB 18,550 per tonne and in Tianjin, the aluminium price heightened by RMB 10 per tonne to close at RMB 18,570 per tonne.
Low-carbon aluminium price in China has gained RMB 16 per tonne to reach RMB 19,336 per tonne.
The CIF Index of Import Bauxite price has slumped by RMB 0.21 per tonne to officiate at RMB 498.50 per tonne.
The price of aluminium alloy (A356) and aluminium alloys (ADC12) have increased by RMB 50 per tonne to finally dock at RMB 19,200 per tonne and RMB 19,300 per tonne, respectively.
