SMM A00 aluminium price elevates by RMB1070/t M-o-M; Low-carbon aluminium price earns RMB103/t

The Shanghai Metals Market, on September 15, experienced a heightening streak in aluminium prices all over China, with the SMM A00 aluminium ingot price soaring by RMB 110 per tonne to officially close at RMB 19,540 per tonne. The average prices have ranged between RMB 19,520 per tonne and RMB 19,560 per tonne.

If we see the SMM aluminium live price chart, it can be seen that the prices are slowly gaining pace this month, with a similar rate of RMB 19,520 per tonne recorded on September 12. Last year, on December 5, the China metals market had seen a similar price of RMB 19,520 per tonne. Other than that, the overall growth trajectory has been linear, with the aluminium prices suddenly ramping up after August 23 this year, when the price was RMB 18,810 per tonne. On a Month-on-Month scale, there has been a steep rise of RMB 1,070 per tonne or 5.79 per cent from RMB 18,470 per tonne recorded on August 15, 2023.

China’s eight central provinces have all witnessed escalating prices today, with the highest spike of RMB 130 per tonne recorded in Gongyi, where the A00 aluminium ingot price stood at RMB 19,400 per tonne. In Hangzhou and Wuxi, the aluminium prices gained RMB 110 per tonne and RMB 100 per tonne, respectively, to close at RMB 19,540 per tonne each. In Chongqing, too, the aluminium price has jumped up the graph by RMB 100 per tonne to officiate at RMB 19,410 per tonne. In Foshan and Shenyang, the A00 aluminium ingot price has accumulated RMB 90 per tonne uniformly, settling down at RMB 19,320 per tonne and RMB 19,460 per tonne. Lastly, in Tianjin and Linyi, the aluminium prices have surged by RMB 60 per tonne, closing at RMB 19,490 per tonne each.

The low-carbon aluminium price in China has increased by RMB 103 per tonne, halting at RMB 20,090 per tonne.

The high-purity aluminium price (99.99%) and the high-purity aluminium price (99.996%) have both levitated by RMB 100 per tonne to officially close at RMB 27,000 per tonne and RMB 28,000 per tonne.

The CIF Index of Import Bauxite has added RMB 1.08 per tonne to its rate, locking at RMB 489.94 per tonne.

The price of aluminium alloy (A356) and the price of aluminium alloy (A360) have seen an equal hike of RMB 100 per tonne, finally resting at RMB 20,150 per tonne and RMB 20,450 per tonne. The price of aluminium alloy (ADC12) has risen by RMB 50 per tonne to close at RMB 19,650 per tonne.

China’s aluminium powder price has shifted upwards by RMB 0.10 per kg, levelling at RMB 21.40 per kg, with the average prices circulating between RMB 21.30 per kg and RMB 21.50 per kg.
