
On Monday, October 4, the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative announced the joining of the Shanghai Aluminum Industry Association to ASI as a new Associations Member, which brought the total number of ASI members to 198.

The foundation of the Shanghai Aluminum Industry Association dates back to 1989. Shanghai and Yangtze River Delta Economic Zone engaged in aluminum, aluminum products, aluminum smelting production enterprises and aluminum industry chain of equipment, trade, scientific research and other relevant enterprises and institutions voluntarily established this association. It is a cross-sector, trans-ownership and non-profit industry organization, with nearly 400 member companies at present.
The Shanghai Aluminum Industry Association is known for being committed to the services including information exchange, technical consulting and technical training, release aluminum processing information through journals, and provide aluminium production and operation data through industry statistics.
Yongda Yuan, Secretary-General of ASI, said: “The Shanghai Aluminum Trade Association is committed to providing a service platform for the development of aluminum processing enterprises, in line with the ASI concept. Joining ASI will not only expand the international perspective, but also contribute to the aluminum processing industry.”
