The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 has strengthened the hinge mechanism and increased the use of aluminium in the frame to improve durability. The changes make the phone weigh about 200 grams, which makes it a little lighter than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, which was around 215 grams. The device being lighter will be easier to carry and handle during daily use.

Earlier foldable phones often showed a visible crease (a visible line) caused by continuous bending of the screen in the middle. In the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Samsung reduces this crease by using a dual-layer ultra-thin glass design. This will create a smoother display, enhance screen strength, and also produce brighter images and more accurate colours, which can improve everyday activities such as watching videos, reading, or viewing photographs.

The model will have a 200-megapixel main camera, add a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with three-times optical zoom. AI-based image processing further enhances photo quality, especially in low-light conditions.
