Primary aluminium inventories in China increase 12.3% to exceed 1 million tonnes on November 4

According to the Shanghai Metals Market, social inventories of primary aluminium built-up 31,000 tonnes or 12.32 week-on-week across eight major Chinese consumption areas. On Thursday, November 4, primary aluminium inventories came in at 1.01 million tonnes, contributed by higher stock arrivals in Wuxi, Linyi, and Shanghai.

Last week, on October 28, primary aluminium inventories stood at 982,000 tonnes, climbing by 25,000 tonnes from the previous week.

Primary aluminium inventories in Wuxi this week gained the highest stocks of 21,000 tonnes week-on-week to stand at 362,000 tonnes, followed by the increase of 6,000 tonnes in Linyi to come in at 23,000 tonnes. In Shanghai and Chongqing, inventories rose 4,000 tonnes and 1,000 tonnes, respectively, to stand at 101,000 tonnes and 3,000 tonnes.

Outlook for the Indian Aluminium Industry

Meanwhile, in Nanhai, primary aluminium inventories decreased 1,000 tonnes to peg at 278,000 tonnes. On the other hand, inventories in Hangzhou, Gongyi, and Tianjin remained restrained at 87,000 tonnes, 90,000 tonnes, and 69,000 tonnes, respectively.
