North American can stock scrap receipts dropped 7% Y to Y in February

New can stock (class) scrap receipts totaled 55.9 million pounds during February 2014, a decrease of 7.0 percent from the February 2013 total of 60.2 million pounds. Compared to the previous month, class scrap receipts declined 6.5 percent from the January 2014 total of 59.9 million pounds. Year-to-date class scrap receipts for 2014 totaled 115.8 million pounds, off 10.9 percent from the 2013 year-to-date total of 130.0 million pounds.
