Skanska has been awarded a contract worth around NOK 1.1 billion (USD 111 million) by Hydro to build a new aluminium wire rod production plant at Hydro's existing Karmøy site in Norway. The new facility will have an annual production capacity of 110,000 tonnes of aluminium wire rod and is scheduled for completion in March 2028.

The project includes the construction of a new production building housing furnaces and a wire rod production line, along with maintenance facilities, storage areas and office space. The scope of work also covers civil construction, installation of technical systems and integration of the new plant with Hydro's existing infrastructure. Construction has already started, and Skanska said the contract will be included in its Nordic order bookings for the third quarter of 2026.

Separately, Skanska announced the sale of the second building in its Studio office development in Warsaw, Poland, to Stena Real Estate for EUR 159 million (USD 181 million). The transaction will be recognised in Skanska Commercial Development Europe's financial results for the third quarter of 2026, while the transfer of ownership is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026.

The office building offers around 27,700 square metres of gross leasable space across 26 floors. Completed in the final quarter of 2025, it is occupied by companies from the financial, pharmaceutical, energy, technology and professional services sectors. The building has also been designed to meet several sustainability and digital infrastructure certification standards.

In the United States, Skanska has also secured a USD 94 million contract to construct a 19,500-square-metre data centre in Virginia. The project includes four data halls, underground utilities and associated site works. Construction is expected to begin in October 2026 and finish by May 2028.

The company also recently won a GBR 282 million (USD 373 million) contract to build 55 Old Broad Street, a 23-storey office tower near Liverpool Street Station in London.
