Exlabesa takes over French company Flandria Aluminium’s existing extrusion business

Exlabesa has recently acquired Flandria Aluminium, a French company that has expertise in extrusion, machining, surface treatment, and recycling of aluminium profiles. This acquisition is part of Exlabesa's international expansion strategy, which aims to expand its direct presence in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. This will enable the company to offer high-value-added products with the highest level of service in these markets.

Flandria Aluminium has a history of over 50 years and currently employs 170 workers. It specializes in the manufacture of aluminium profiles for the construction, industrial, and transport segments. Its facilities, covering over 35,000 m², include two presses of ⌀ 8'' and ⌀ 9'', respectively. Additionally, it has an aluminium recycling plant with a melting furnace, which will allow Exlabesa to increase its low-carbon aluminium production capacity.

Exlabesa is a multinational company that operates on three continents through nine production centres strategically located in Spain, Germany, Portugal, Poland, Morocco, the United Kingdom, and the United States. It serves nearly 15,000 customers in 40 countries and employs 1,800 people. The company produces a total of 160,000 tons of extruded profiles annually and has positioned itself as a global leader in the production of high-value aluminium profiles for the most demanding industrial sectors.

Both Exlabesa and Flandria Aluminium share identical values and a passion for the aluminium industry. Exlabesa will bring its entrepreneurial vision and investment capacity to strengthen the French company and drive its long-term growth. At the same time, Flandria will maintain a high degree of autonomy to respond most effectively to the specific needs of its market. The recently signed agreement has passed the legal validation process by the competent authorities and has been approved by the French Competition Commission.
