Germany’s aluminium FRP exports to Poland fall 16% through July 2026
Germany’s aluminium flat-rolled product (FRP) exports to Poland fell 16.3 per cent year on year in January–July 2026, reaching 86,723 tonnes, compared with 103,658 tonnes in the same period of 2025. The volume was also 2.8 per cent lower than the 89,181 tonnes recorded in January–July 2024. However, exports were 2 per cent higher than the 85,018 tonnes shipped during the first seven months of 2023. The decline follows an increase in shipments during the previous two years. Exports rose 16.2 per cent between January–July 2024 and the same period in 2025, while the 2024 volume was 5 per cent higher than in 2023. SRF plans ₹6b battery-grade aluminium foil plant in Madhya Pradesh as Q2 profit rises 31%
SRF Ltd is expanding its presence in the aluminium foil sector with a planned investment of INR 6 billion (USD 63.5 million) in a battery-grade aluminium foil manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh, as the chemicals producer reported a 31 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit for the second quarter of FY27. The proposed plant will have an annual production capacity of 12,000 tonnes and cater to lithium-ion (Li-ion) and sodium-ion (Na-ion) battery applications. The investment comes as energy storage and electric mobility sectors drive demand for battery materials. The company’s board has approved the investment, with the facility planned at the existing site of its subsidiary, SRF Altech Ltd, at Jetapur in Madhya Pradesh. Mexico and UAE dual engines boost September aluminium foil exports to second-highest level of the year
Customs data shows that China's aluminium foil exports totaled 128,200 tonnes in September 2026, up 6.8 per cent M-o-M and up 13.3 per cent Y-o-Y, marking the second-highest level of 2026, trailing only June's 131,500 tonnes. In January-September 2026, China's cumulative aluminium foil exports reached 1.0527 million tonnes, up 3.8 per cent Y-o-Y. Unbacked aluminium foil accounted for approximately 85.9 per cent, while backed aluminium foil made up about 14.1 per cent. By region, Southeast Asia remained the top destination with a 22.5 per cent share, pulling back from 24.8 per cent in August. After a soft 2025 and a near-flat 2026, North American aluminum extrusion demand is forecast to climb from 2.91 million tons in 2025 to 3.54 million tons by 2035. The lift is expected to come less from construction volume and more from transportation, data centers, grid and solar, and engineered industrial profiles. North America’s aluminum extrusion forecast: 630 thousand tons of new demand by 2035 North America is one of the most mature aluminum extrusion markets in the world, and its forecast reflects that.
