An Ilkeston-based company Dales Fabrications has reportedly installed a polyester powder coating equipment that will apply attractive hard-wearing finishes to the aluminium products it manufactures at own factory in Compton Road. The equipment got unveiled on Friday, November 30, by some industry specialists and Erewash MP Maggie Throup, a British Conservative Party politician.

Dales designs and manufactures an extensive range of standard and bespoke aluminium building products including fascia and soffit systems and brise soleil.
Karl Prosser, managing director of Dales, said the equipment worth £170,000 will help the company to ramp up its output capacity and at the same time speed up the production process.
Out of £170,000, around £42,500 was funded by a Government fund managed by the University of Derby. Expectedly, with the installation of the new plant, the company is going to create two jobs at the present and another two to follow in the next couple of years.
Maggie Throup, who also has a scientific background, said: “I’m delighted that this will result in more people being employed locally. It’s always good news to see local businesses expanding.”
According to the report, Dales has received an endorsement from Syntha Pulvin, a multi-national company that provides the powder products. Dales is one of the 26 companies in Britain to receive this endorsement.
Dales will use a chemical pre-treatment in the plant which is more environmentally-friendly, ahead of new legislation which will be introduced in three years that bans chromium products.
