Daily bauxite and prebaked anode prices in major Chinese provinces remain flat

Both bauxite and prebaked anode prices in the domestic China market remain flat on May 22 2017. Though daily prices remain flat, the bauxite prices register a drop on a monthly analysis and prebaked anode registered a rise.

As on May 22 2017, as reported by Shanghai Metals Market; Bauxite (5.5=Al/Si<6.5) prices in Guangxi remains flat in April/May with no change registered on daily prices. The same works for Bauxite (6.5=Al/Si<7.5)in Guangxi. Bauxite (6.5=Al/Si<7.5) and Bauxite (5.5=Al/Si<6.5) prices in Guizhou province also remain unchanged. Average Bauxite (6.0=Al/Si<7.0) prices in Henan province drop to RMB 380/t in May from RMB 390/t in April. Bauxite (4.5=Al/Si<5.5) price in Henan province dropped from RMB 285/t in April to RMB 275/t in May. The daily price remains unchanged for both grades.

The average Bauxite (6.0=Al/Si<7.0) price in Shanxi also drops from RMB 360/t in April to RMB 350/t in May whereas Bauxite (4.5=Al/Si<5.5) prices remain flat. The daily prices remain flat for both grades. Bauxite (6.0=Al/Si<7.0) in Henan remains the costliest of all domestic bauxite with a price range of RMB 350- 410/t.

According to Shanghai Metals Market record, daily average price of Prebaked Anode remains flat in all the major China markets on May 22 2017. Average price of Prebaked Anode (TY-1) in East China market stands at RMB 3,745 per tonne, Prebaked Anode (TY-1) Northwest China price is RMB 3,900 per tonne, Prebaked Anode (TY-1) Southwest China price is RMB 3,500 per tonne, and Prebaked Anode (TY-1) Central China price is RMB 3,550 per tonne.

On a monthly analysis, the average price of Prebaked Anode in East China rises from RMB 3,565/t in April to RMB 3,745/t in May. For the Northwest China market, it rises from RMB 3,500/t in April to RMB 3,900/t in May. For the Southwest China market it rises from RMB 3,400/t in April to RMB 3,500/t in May. In the Central China market the price registered a slight jump from RMB 3,500/t in April and early May to RMB 3,550/t in the second fortnight in May.

Price of Cryolite (CH-0&CH-1) is currently ranging at RMB 6,300-6,500 per tonne and the price of Aluminum Fluoride(AF-0&AF-1) will move within a range of 9,200- 9,400 per tonne.
