
Croatia's economic freedom score is 62.2, making it's economy the 84th freest in the 2020 Index and the major industries comprise shipbuilding, construction, petrochemicals, and food processing. However, the country’s economy is expected to shrink 8.5% this year as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and to grow 3.5% in 2021, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

The country at the crossroads of Central and Southeast Europe on the Adriatic Sea has recorded its import of aluminium plates, sheets and strips during 2018-19 at 14,215 tonnes and the foreign revenue expended for the import stood at $39.98 million. The import for 2020 is going to stand at 8125 tonnes, the highest in three years phase and the expenditure to remain at $21.94 million. When the import volume and expenditure for 2020 gets affixed with the existing two years, it signifies 22,340 tonnes and $61.92 million respectively.
Croatia’s import of aluminium plates, sheets and strips in 2018 stood at 6397 tonnes and expenditures remained at $17.91 million, whereas, in 2019 the import saw growth by 22.21%, as the import volume rose to 7818 tonnes and expenditures also climbed to $22.07 million.
The import for 2020 is analysed towards growth by 3.92%, as the import volume to stand at 8125 tonnes, while expenditure to dip and remain at $21.94 million.
Croatia’s major trading destinations for import of Aluminium plates, sheets and strips are Austria, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, China, Czech Rep., Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, etc.
