Cooling smarter: Aludecor unveils India’s first home-grown aluminium sun-louver system
Aludecor an Indian manufacturer and supplier of aluminium composite panel (ACP), has introduced ‘Alubreeze’, the country’s first home-grown metal sun-louver system, an energy-efficient, design-forward solution engineered to reduce solar heat gain and cooling loads in modern buildings.

The innovation is positioned at the intersection of sustainability and smart architecture, directly targeting India’s INR 25,000-crore facade market.
Built entirely from recyclable aluminium and finished on India’s only roller-coating lines, Alubreeze is available in preset angles of 30 degree, 45 degree, and 90 degree, allowing it to reduce direct sunlight penetration in glazed structures. It not only contributes to energy savings but also adds sculptural depth to flat glass facades, delivering on both function and aesthetics.

The launch comes at a crucial time for India’s built environment. Buildings account for nearly one-third of the country’s electricity consumption, drawing about 500 TWh of the total 1,543 TWh used in FY2023–24. Commercial buildings alone consumed 125 TWh, with cooling equipment responsible for 62 per cent of that demand.
With extreme heat events on the rise, passive shading solutions like Alubreeze are gaining traction. According to independent studies cited by the US, whole building design guide, well-designed external louvers can reduce a building’s annual cooling energy consumption by 5–15 per cent while enhancing natural lighting and indoor comfort.
Poised to capitalise on a fast-growing green market
Alubreeze enters the market at a time of strong growth in India’s building materials industry. As per research by IMARC, the Indian façade sector is valued at USD 3.06 billion (INR 25,400 crore) in 2024, growing at a 6.9 per cent CAGR through 2033. India’s wider green building materials market, currently estimated at USD 13.86 billion, is projected to triple to USD 39 billion by 2033, expanding at 11.3 per cent annually.
With its environmentally conscious design and technical precision, Alubreeze aligns with these trends. It is fabricated using 100 per cent recyclable aluminium, including 30 per cent post-consumer content, making it eligible for LEED and GRIHA certification credits without the corrosion risks or weight concerns associated with galvanised steel fins.
The louvers are coated with dual-layer PVDF or super-durable polyester (SDP) finishes, ensuring UV and colour stability across various climatic zones, including coastal, desert, and high-altitude regions. The aerodynamic profile also creates a self-washing effect, reducing long-term maintenance costs. According to internal R&D simulations, the system significantly lowers direct heat gain on south- and west-facing glass walls under typical Indian summer conditions (actual performance may vary by orientation and window-to-wall ratio).
Speaking at the product launch, Ashok Kumar Bhaiya, Founder and CMD of Aludecor, said, “Alubreeze converts the building envelope from a cost centre into an asset that pays energy dividends for decades. Because the system is roll-coated, architects can pick from hundreds of metallic, solid or wooden finishes without worrying about colour-bath variations. That is a first for India.”
The launch of Alubreeze supports Aludecor’s ongoing INR 110 crore capacity expansion, announced in late 2022, to grow its premium metal product portfolio. Alongside Alubreeze, the company’s lineup now includes fire-retardant metal composite panels and honeycomb façades. Together, these innovations are expected to help the company meet its INR 1,100-crore revenue target by FY2026–27.
