Bugatti has brought a unique aluminium-bodied Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse back to its original condition through its La Maison Pur Sang restoration programme, reviving the supercar’s distinctive mirror-like exterior more than a decade after its creation.

Known as chassis 8.100, the one-off roadster was originally commissioned with a body made entirely of polished aluminium. Its construction required massive aluminium blocks weighing up to 20 tonnes to be delivered to Bugatti’s headquarters in Molsheim, France, before the vehicle was completed in 2014. It was reportedly the most expensive Veyron ever produced at the time.

The recent refurbishment was carried out at the owner’s request, with Bugatti returning the car to its original specifications. The process included removing aftermarket personalisation and restoring the polished aluminium surface to its original smooth, reflective finish.

The vehicle’s distinctive exterior is paired with a contrasting Carmine Red leather interior, complemented by exposed carbon fibre and polished aluminium details across the centre console, steering wheel and Bugatti emblem positioned between the seats.

The Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse is powered by an 8.0-litre quad-turbocharged W16 engine producing 1,183 horsepower, with a reported top speed of 254 mph.

First unveiled in 2012, the Grand Sport Vitesse was a record-breaking roadster, while the aluminium-bodied version stands out as one of the most distinctive examples produced by the Bugatti Atelier. Its restoration and certification mark a return to the original specification of a car whose unusual finish remains central to its identity.

Bugatti has not disclosed the identity of the new owner. According to the company’s announcement, the car now resides on the French Riviera. Videos circulating on social media have shown racing driver Fernando Alonso driving it in Monaco, although this does not confirm ownership.
