Three Constellium plants in Germany have received the Chain of Custody Standard Certification from Aluminium Stewardship Initiative. One is Constellium’s extrusion plant at Singen and the other two are automotive structure production sites at Gottmadingen and Dahenfeld. The news came on Thursday, February 11, after ASI announced that it successfully certified those three plants that manufacture automotive structures and extruded products destined for rail, electrical, and mechanical engineering markets.

Earlier in October 2020, the facilities had already achieved ASI Performance Standard Certification.
Fiona Solomon, Chief Executive Officer at ASI, said: “We warmly congratulate Constellium on their Chain of Custody certification at these new three facilities. We’re pleased to see the company continuing to expand its ASI Certifications, following on from their dual-Certification of casting, rolling, finishing and recycling facilities in December 2020. This is a strong demonstration of Constellium’s commitment to supplying their range of customers with responsibly produced aluminium, and to addressing sustainability challenges more broadly.”
Philippe Hoffmann, President of Constellium’s Automotive Structures and Industry business unit, said: “We are very proud of this achievement. This certification responds to demand for sustainable solutions from our customers and from society. This certification is in line with our ambitious sustainability strategy to expand our low-carbon offering and to improve the overall footprint of the aluminium supply chain, while adding more value for our customers and our business.”
The independent, third-party audits of the Constellium plant were carried out by GUTcert (AFNOR Group).
