Constellium on track to achieve 2020 Sustainability Targets

<p>Constellium, the global aluminium semis product manufacturer, reported an increase in used beverage cans recycling rate following the installation of a new furnace at its facility in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, US. The company in its recently released 2016 Annual Business and Sustainability Performance Report said it adhered to the industry-led objectives and helped Europe to reach about 80% recycling rate target set for 2020.</p> <p style="text-align: center;"><img style="vertical-align: middle;" src="http://www.alcircle.com/uploads/images/Constellium.jpg" alt="News" width="481" height="269" /></p> <p>Commenting on the progress Chairman of Constellium&rsquo;s Sustainability Council and President of Constellium&rsquo;s Packaging and Automotive Rolled Products business unit Arnaud Jouron said, &ldquo;At Constellium, we&rsquo;re committed to integrating sustainability into the very heart of our business, where our efforts create value for our customers, our shareholders, our employees and the communities we proudly serve.&rdquo;</p> <p>As per the report, Constellium&rsquo;s other sustainability objectives encompassing areas like Customer Satisfaction, Employee Engagement, Community Upliftment, and Sustainable Purchasing are also on track.</p> <p>The company actively participated in finalizing the Aluminum Stewardship Initiative (ASI) certification program, which will be available in early 2018.</p> <p>{googleAdsense}</p> <p>The 2016 sustainability report identified few areas where improvement was needed. The safety measures and waste management procedures need to improve. Further, energy efficiency targets are yet to be reached. Constellium said that it is working on a host of corrective measures.&nbsp; Once implemented, it hopes to get back on track by the end of 2017.&nbsp;</p>
