
Average alumina spot price in China has opened the week on Monday, January 25, with a further hike of RMB 9 per tonne to stand at RMB 2,394 per tonne, according to Shanghai Metals Market data.

In Shandong, Guizhou, and Guangxi, alumina spot price has increased the highest by RMB 15 per tonne, found SMM. While in Shandong, the price is hovering around RMB 2,395 per tonne; in Guizhou and Guangxi, the alumina price has come in at RMB 2,350 per tonne. In Henan and Shanxi, alumina spot price is stand at RMB 2,400 per tonne and RMB 2,405 per tonne, growing by RMB 10 per tonne and RMB 5 per tonne, respectively.
Imported alumina price has extended growth by RMB 20 per tonne to RMB 2,500 per tonne on Monday, January 25, while the Australian alumina FOB price has remained restrained at US$ 306 per tonne.
A00 aluminium ingot price has grown by RMB 30 per tonne to stand at RMB 15,030 per tonne on January 25, following a dip of RMB 20 per tonne on Friday, January 22. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 15,010 per tonne and RMB 15,050 per tonne, with spot contract to be traded at premium price of RMB 110-150 per tonne.

However, the increase in A00 aluminium ingot price today has not touched upon all the major Chinese markets, except for Gongyi, Wuxi, Linyi, and Foshan. In Wuxi and Gongyi, primary aluminium ingot price has grown by RMB 35 per tonne and RMB 30 per tonne to come in at RMB 15,035 per tonne and RMB 14,940 per tonne, respectively, while the price in Linyi and Foshan has improved by RMB 20 per tonne and RMB 10 per tonne to stand at RMB 15,110 per tonne and RMB 14,980 per tonne.
Despite the hike in A00 aluminium ingot price, aluminium alloys prices have recorded no change today. While the price of aluminium alloy (A356) has remained muted at RMB 15,700 per tonne, the prices of aluminium alloys (ADC12) and aluminium alloy (A380) have continued to hover around RMB 16,750 per tonne and RMB 17,650 per tonne, respectively.
