China bauxite imports set new record with an increase of 67.59%

According to Chinese customs data.the country imported bauxite 5,137,200 tons,which increased 67.59% comparing with the same period a year ago.
Based on the detailed analysis of the data ,The import volume from India increased 28.84% year-on-year, rising to 3,039,000 tons,
The import volume from Indonesia rose to 3.039 million tons on January, a 28.84% increase year-on-year, link increase by 34.95%.Imported from Australia totaled 986000 tons, a 49.09% increase year-on-year, link increased by 34.70%.In addition,imported from India /guinea and Ghana o are increasing, especially for the first time for China to import Ghana bauxite, the import enterprise was chongqing bosai mining group.
For the imports of bauxite total picks up,there are three reasons.firstly,the new alumina capacity in shandong area calls for more bauxite to stock.Then,the alumina enterprises maybe resume production,the companis reducted output because of the restrictions of bauxite export in Indonesia previously.so the raw material will be widely used.Thirdly,it is also the reason about Indonesia maybe restrict bauxite exporting in 2014.
