Chile’s Aluminium foil import market during 2017-20 remains unsettled

The aluminium foil market import market of Chile has remained very much unsettled, though the total export during 2017-19 has been recorded at 82,198 tonnes, whereas $271.70 million has been expended for the import during the phase. The estimated volume of import for 2020 has been analysed at 24,001 tonnes and foreign revenue expenditure might reach to $79.72 million, when added both the volume and expenditure amount with the past three years, it reflects 106,199 tonnes and $351.42 million respectively.

The major trading partner nations for Chile’s aluminium foil importation are Argentina, Austria, Brazil, China, Germany, Hungary, Netherlands, Sweden, USA, etc.

Chile’s aluminium foil import market in 2017 recorded 28,778 tonnes and the foreign revenue expended remained at $94.82 million. In 2018, the aluminium foil market has shown growth by 1.78%, as the total import volume stood at 29,293 tonnes and the revenue expenditure remained at $98.02 million.

In 2019, the aluminium foil market of Chile saw a drop by 17.63%, as the total import remained at 24,127 tonnes, with Y-o-Y drop by volume stood at 5166 tonnes and the foreign revenue expended for the import was $78.86 million.

The estimated import for 2020 again reflects de-growth by 0.52%, as the total import volume might stand at 24,001 tonnes.
