Rusal announced in its second quarter operating results that its bauxite production stood at 3.836 million tonnes, recording an increase of 0.9 per cent from 3.801 million tonnes in Q1 2021. In H1 2021, Rusal’s bauxite production totalled 7.637 million tonnes, up 2.3 per cent year-on-year from 7.469 million tonnes.

Gangavaram Port in Visakhapatnam, India, the deepest and the most modern port in India, has reportedly discharged 125,380 tonnes of bauxite within 24 hours using the Mechanical Unloading System, the fastest bauxite discharge rate in the history of any port in India and possibly in the world.

Metro Mining Limited has signed a binding terms with its barging and transhipping partner, Transhipment Services Australia (TSA) for a floating crane barge at the Bauxite Hills Mine. The floating crane barge, which has been newly built and commissioned, will start operational in the 4th quarter of 2021.

The Bauxite (4.5≤Al/Si＜5.5) price in Henan stood at RMB 430 per tonne on Thursday, 29 July 2021, an increase of RMB 42.5 per tonne after remaining restrained since July 12. The average price is expected to range between RMB 400-460 per tonne. Prices of bauxite remain unchanged in all the three major China markets (Shanxi, Guangxi and Guizhou).

Metro Mining announced production and shipping results for June 2021. Bauxite production was 729,000 wet metric tonnes (WMT) in June quarter, down from 1.419 million tonnes in June quarter 2020.

The company’s June quarter bauxite shipments stood at 629,000 WMT. That was down from 1.251 million WMT. Bauxite mined per day was 11,053 WMT. Shipment per day stood at 11,234 WMT in June quarter.
