National Aluminium Company Limited (Nalco), in partnership with the Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO), recently hosted an exclusive roadshow in Bhubaneswar on September 23, 2025, to unveil the ambitious Angul Aluminium Park Pvt. Ltd. (AAPPL). This dynamic joint venture is set to establish a cutting-edge industrial park in Angul, Odisha, aiming to position the state as a global leader in the aluminium industry.

In his keynote address, Nalco CMD Brijendra Pratap Singh outlined the transformative potential of the Angul Aluminium Park. He emphasised that the roadshow was more than just a showcase of infrastructure; in fact, it was a platform to create future opportunities.

The park boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including seamless road connectivity, robust transport links, uninterrupted power and water supply, modern administrative hubs, training centres, and cutting-edge laboratories. Nalco's commitment to supplying 50,000 tonnes of hot metal annually to downstream industries was also highlighted, positioning the park as a cost-efficient and competitive powerhouse for aluminium production.
Hemant Kumar Sharma took the stage to highlight the dominant role Odisha plays in India's aluminium sector, producing nearly 72 per cent of the nation's primary aluminium. However, he pointed out a crucial gap in downstream manufacturing, which remains underdeveloped. This, he noted, presents immense growth opportunities.
Not just a part but more as a catalyst
"Aluminium is the metal of the future," he declared, pointing to its growing presence in packaging, home appliances, transportation, electric vehicles, and aerospace. The Angul Aluminium Park, he added, will catalyse this growth, with its initial 223-acre footprint already set for expansion to 600 acres. He urged investors to seize this moment and be part of an industrial revolution in the making.
Strategically situated near Nalco and key industrial hubs, the Angul Aluminium Park has already attracted three industries, with four more in the pipeline. Shri Sharma praised the proactive role played by both the Central and State governments in fostering an investor-friendly environment, citing measures such as GST reductions, policies designed to encourage entrepreneurship, and hands-on support for businesses. Odisha's progressive Industrial Policy, he assured, would continue to nurture and support downstream and ancillary industries.

Manikanta Naik further fuelled the optimism, sharing the impressive success of Gopalpur Industrial Park, which now houses 14 major industries across sectors like chemicals, solar cells, and green hydrogen. He expressed confidence that AAPPL, with its robust infrastructure and vision, is poised to replicate and even exceed the success of Gopalpur.
Jagdish Arora, delivering the vote of thanks, reiterated Nalco's unwavering commitment to building AAPPL into a world-class industrial hub. The roadshow, he said, reaffirmed both Odisha's vision and the potential for substantial investments, innovation, and job creation in the region.
Distinguished guests at the event
The event saw a convergence of government officials, industry heavyweights, investors, and key stakeholders, all united by a shared vision to accelerate Odisha's industrial journey. The inaugural session was graced by the distinguished presence of Odisha's Additional Chief Secretary for Industries, Hemant Kumar Sharma, as the Chief Guest, alongside Nalco's CMD, Brijendra Pratap Singh. The event also welcomed Tata Steel SEZ's Managing Director, Manikanta Naik, and Nalco's Director (P&T), Jagdish Arora, as esteemed guests.

With over 100 participants, including top investors, entrepreneurs, and industry associations, the roadshow reflected the growing confidence in Odisha's aluminium-led industrial future. This successful gathering marked a significant step toward realising Odisha's vision as a global hub for aluminium-based industries, with Angul Aluminium Park set to become the nucleus of this industrial transformation.
