
According to the latest report from Aluminum Association, “Index of Net New Orders of Aluminum Mill Products” in the U.S. declined consecutively in June and July. The Association’s “Index of Net New Orders of Aluminum Mill Products” for June 2019 declined 6.4 per cent from May 2019. In July, the index further declined 2.0 per cent from June 2019.

Orders for flat roll products (sheet, plate, can stock and foil) decreased 8.6 per cent month on month in June. In July, orders for flat roll products were further down by 1.3 per cent from June.
Orders for extruded products rose slightly in June month on month but, in July, the orders were down 3.2 per cent. Orders for redraw rod increased 8.2 per cent in June but dropped 12% in July.
In June 2019, total orders decreased 10.5 per cent YoY, while in July; total orders were off 7.5 per cent. On average, orders recorded by domestic producers through July 2019 were down 7.1 per cent from YTD 2018.
