
According to the Shanghai Metals Market, aluminium billet inventories in China increased by 7,400 tonnes week-on-week across five major consumption areas. Thus, the inventories stood at 184,400 tonnes on Thursday, October 14.
Stock gains in Foshan and Nanchang primarily contributed to the increase in aluminium billet inventories this week. The purchase trend was largely on rigid demand as the downstream market was mostly following wait-and-see.

In Foshan, aluminium billet inventories grew by 4,800 tonnes this week to come in at 99,400 tonnes. In Nanchang, inventories gained 3,500 tonnes to stand at 27,500 tonnes, while stocks in Wuxi and Changzhou inched up by 690 tonnes and 400 tonnes to settle at 24,920 tonnes and 18,600 tonnes, respectively.
Meanwhile, in Huzhou, aluminium billet inventories declined by 2,000 tonnes to come in at 14,000 tonnes on October 14.
