Alumina spot price in China records a W-o-W fall of RMB4/t as of Feb 21; A00 aluminium ingot price drops by RMB70/t

On Tuesday, February, the average alumina spot price in China inched up by RMB 1 per tonne after remaining restrained since February 16. The price as of today settled at RMB 2,947 per tonne. On a W-o-W calculation, a drop of RMB 4 per tonne was seen from RMB 2,951 per tonne recorded on February 16.

The average alumina spot price has shown changes in some provinces, with the highest in Lianyungang, where the price has gained RMB 75 per tonne to peg at RMB 3,000 per tonne, followed by a growth of RMB 50 per tonne to halt at RMB 3,100 per tonne. On the same day, Shandong's price increased by RMB 5 per tonne to stand at RMB 2,925 per tonne.

As per the SMM data, the A00 aluminium ingot price in China has dropped by RMB 70 per tonne to reside at RMB 18,620 per tonne, with the spot contract price expected to be traded at a discount price of RMB 110 per tonne to RMB 70 per tonne. The average price for the same may range between RMB 18,600 per tonne and RMB 18,640 per tonne.

The price in Tianjin has plunged by RMB 100 per tonne to halt at RMB 18,620 per tonne, followed by a drop of RMB 90 per tonne in Gongyi and Shenyang to score at RMB 18,480 per tonne and RMB 18,620 per tonne. On the same day, prices in Foshan and Wuxi slumped by RMB 80 per tonne and RMB 75 per tonne to peg at RMB 18,620 per tonne and RMB 18,605 per tonne. In Hangzhou, the price has dipped by RMB 65 per tonne to halt at RMB 18,620 per tonne, with Chongqing settling at RMB 18,650 per tonne after going down by RMB 40 per tonne. The price in Linyi has also experienced the same price cut to rest at RMB 18,650 per tonne.

The domestic price of low carbon aluminium in China has dropped by RMB 82 per tonne to reach RMB 19,204 per tonne. The high purity aluminium (99.99%) price and high purity aluminium (99.996%) price have slipped by RMB 100 per tonne to come in at RMB 26,400 per tonne and RMB 27,400 per tonne.

After recording a hike the previous day, the aluminium alloys (ADC12) and aluminium alloy (A380) have shown no change to settle at RMB 19,900 per tonne and RMB 20,900 per tonne. On the other hand, the price of aluminium alloy (A356) has dipped by RMB 100 per tonne to score at RMB 19,700 per tonne, with the average prices ranging between RMB 19,500 per tonne and RMB 19,900 per tonne.
