
After about two weeks of restraint at RMB 2,332 per tonne, the average alumina spot price in China has inched up by RMB 6 per tonne to close the week on Friday, March 19, at RMB 2,338 per tonne, according to the Shanghai Metals Market. In Shanxi, alumina price has increased by RMB 10 per tonne to come in at RMB 2,340 per tonne, with average prices likely to range between RMB 2,330 per tonne and RMB 2,350 per tonne. In Henan, the price has gained RMB 5 per tonne to peg at RMB 2,335 per tonne. Average prices are likely to hover around RMB 2,330-2,340 per tonne.

Australian alumina FOB price, on the other hand, has dwindled by US$ 5 per tonne to settle at US$ 289 per tonne, learned SMM.
Among the other primary aluminium input costs, aluminium powder price has dipped by RMB 0.30 per kg to stand at RMB 20.95 per kg. Average prices are expected to range between RMB 20.90 per kg and RMB 21 per kg.
A00 aluminium ingot price has also decreased on March 19, backed on the further expansion in primary aluminium inventories by 22,000 tonnes this week to 2.5 million tonnes. According to SMM, the price today has come in at RMB 17,400 per tonne shrinking by RMB 280 per tonne. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 17,380 per tonne and RMB 17,420 per tonne, with spot contract to be traded at a premium price of RMB 50-10 per tonne.

A00 aluminium ingot price in Foshan has also clocked at RMB 17,400 per tonne seeing the highest decline of RMB 280 per tonne among the other major Chinese markets. In Chongqing, primary aluminium ingot price has plunged by RMB 275 per tonne to settle at RMB 17,355 per tonne, followed by the decrease of RMB 260 per tonne in Tianjin to RMB 17,390 per tonne.
Aluminium alloy (A356) price has nosedived by RMB 300 per tonne to stand at RMB 18,300 per tonne, as of March 19, with average prices likely to hover around RMB 18,050-18,150 per tonne, found SMM.
Aluminium alloys (ADC12) price and aluminium alloy (A380) price have dropped by RMB 50 per tonne to come in at RMB 18,000 per tonne and RMB 19,000 per tonne, respectively.
