According to the Shanghai Metals Market, the average alumina spot price in China has increased for the fifth day in a row by RMB 13 per tonne to stand at RMB 2,862 per tonne as of Friday, January 14.
In Guangxi, alumina price has hiked by RMB 30 per tonne to come in at RMB 2,750 per tonne, while the price in Shandong and Henan has grown by RMB 10 per tonne to RMB 2,910 per tonne and RMB 2875 per tonne, respectively. In Shanxi and Guizhou, alumina spot price has also seen a rise of RMB 10 per tonne to close the week at RMB 2,885 per tonne and RMB 2,750 per tonne.
However, the Australian alumina FOB price has remained restrained, following a rise of US$1 per tonne on the previous day to US$346 per tonne, found SMM.
China’s A00 aluminium ingot price, on the other hand, has decreased by RMB 400 per tonne on January 14, to come in at RMB 21,170 per tonne. The average prices are likely to range between RMB 21,150 per tonne and RMB 21,190 per tonne, with a spot contract to be traded at a premium price of RMB 50-10 per tonne.
In Gongyi and Wuxi, A00 aluminium ingot price has also plunged by RMB 400 per tonne to hover around RMB 20,990 per tonne and RMB 21,160 per tonne, respectively, while the price in Hangzhou and Foshan has declined by RMB 395 per tonne and RMB 390 per tonne to peg at RMB 21,170 per tonne and RMB 21,190 per tonne. In Chongqing and Linyi, the primary aluminium ingot price has moved down by RMB 110 per tonne to RMB 21,570 per tonne and RMB 21,370 per tonne, followed by the decrease of RMB 100 per tonne and RMB 80 per tonne in Shenyang and Tianjin to settle at RMB 21,520 per tonne and RMB 21,540 per tonne.
China’s low-carbon aluminium price has shrunk by RMB 392 per tonne to come in at RMB 21,791 per tonne as of January 14.
Aluminium alloy (A356) price has dwindled by RMB 400 per tonne to stand at RMB 22,850 per tonne, with average prices likely to range between RMB 22,800 per tonne and RMB 22,900 per tonne. But aluminium alloys (ADC12) price and aluminium alloy (A380) price have remained unchanged at RMB 21,000 per tonne and RMB 21,400 per tonne, respectively.
