
Followed by restraint on June 14 at RMB 3032 per tonne, the average spot price of alumina has recorded a decline by RMB 53 per tonne to stand at RMB 2,979 per tonne, found Shanghai Metals Market. Due to the price restraints and declines over the month until now, the average spot price of alumina is standing RMB 108 per tonne lower than the same period last month, when the price was at RMB 3087 per tonne, as of May 17.

In the east, the price has inched down by RMB 40 per tonne to RMB 3000 per tonne, while that in the central and north by RMB 60 per tonne and RMB 50 per tonne to RMB 2,990 per tonne and RMB 2,950 per tonne. In the south, the price has registered a drop by RMB 45 per tonne to RMB 3020 per tonne.
Against the drop in the alumina spot price, the A00 aluminium ingot price has also registered a decline by RMB 40 per tonne to RMB 13,930 per tonne. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 13,910 per tonne and RMB 13,950 per tonne. Spot aluminium contract is likely to be traded at a discount of RMB 10 per tonne to a premium of RMB 30 per tonne.

In Shenyang, the aluminium ingot price has fallen by RMB 95 per tonne to RMB 13,920 per tonne, while in Wuxi by RMB 80 per tonne to RMB 13,895 per tonne. In Hangzhou and Linyi, the ingot price has recorded a fall by RMB 70 per tonne to RMB 13,930 per tonne and RMB 14,020 per tonne.
Among other raw materials, the price of aluminium powder has dropped to RMB 17.40 per tonne, Shanghai Metals Market found on June 17.
