Alcoa names new COO of Global Primary Products

Aluminum maker Alcoa is shuffling some executives in its Global Primary Products business and its Investor Relations function with all the moves effective Dec. 1.
William Oplinger was named chief operating officer of Global Primary Products where he will oversee the company’s bauxite mining, refining and smelting activities. This COO position has been empty since May when Chris Ayers was named executive vice president and global primary products president. Most recently Oplinger was chief financial officer for Global Primary Products.
