The alumina price in China performed higher this week. The price stood higher by RMB 3 per tonne to stand at RMB 2465 per tonne on Monday, May 31 2021. The price on 2^nd June and 3^rd June increased by RMB 7 per tonne and RMB 4 per tonne to RMB 2472 per tonne and RMB 2476 per tonne after remaining flat on 1^st June. On the other hand, Altech Chemicals Limited has declared its submission of a patent with IP Australia, for its invention of methods for coating anode active materials with alumina.

Altech Chemicals Limited has declared its submission of a patent with IP Australia, for its invention of methods for coating anode active materials with alumina. The patent illustrates Altech's technology for alumina-containing coating. The alumina coating layer, when applied to anode materials such as graphite and silicon would serve as an artificial solid electrolyte interface (SEI), which is expected to reduce lithium-ion losses during each charge and discharge cycle of a rechargeable lithium-ion battery (e.g. as used in electric vehicles), and also retard degradation of battery capacity.

The alumina price in China has increased by RMB 3 per tonne on Monday, 31 May 2021, after remaining flat on 28^th May. The price is currently hovering at RMB 2465 per tonne, as updated by Shanghai Metals Market.

The average alumina spot price in China has extended its growth by RMB 4 per tonne to come in at RMB 2,476 per tonne on Thursday, June 3, found the Shanghai Metals Market. In Guizhou and Guangxi, the alumina price has increased by RMB 15 per tonne to peg at RMB 2,430 per tonne, while the price in Henan has gained RMB 5 per tonne to stand at RMB 2,480 per tonne.
