The leading vertically integrated aluminium producer in Europe, Alro, measured by production capacity, declares that Vimetco Extrusion, Alro's downstream subsidiary in charge of the extrusion business line, commissioned a new state-of-the-art automated extrusion line, following a EUR 10 million investment. With this new line, Vimetco Extrusion will be able to increase its production capacity of value-added and high-value aluminium products by about 11,000 tonnes, reaching a total capacity of over 35,000 tonnes by 2022.

In addition, the new line has been developed in partnership with Presezzi Extrusion spa, which has the lowest guaranteed gas consumption on the market, thanks to its energy-saving system, which supports resource allocation efficiency and reduces business risks associated with resource scarcity, as well as water and air cooling zones that are independently operated.
As a result of 16 years of uninterrupted activity, Vimetco Extrusion reached this strategic milestone, which translated into continuous progress in terms of production capacity and a portfolio of value-added and high-value-added products for industries like building construction, solar energy, medical, engineering, and transportation.
Igor HIGER, the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Vimetco Extrusion, said, "Every anniversary is a good opportunity to reflect upon Vimetco Extrusion's evolution, appreciate the team and all the partners, and share new perspectives on business development. Vimetco Extrusion takes the responsibility towards its stakeholders very seriously, investing in sustainable development, creating added value and strong opportunities for the community as well.”
"Our long-term strategy has always focused on rational resource allocation, investing in state-of-the-art capacities, reducing energy demand through energy efficiency, and supporting green energy industries through supplying aluminium products. And this proves even more correct and valuable during the current challenging worldwide context, with the energy crisis putting the economic progress under high risk.”
From 5,000 tonnes of value-added products in 2007, Vimetco Extrusion increased its output to 35,000 tonnes in 2022, with a majority of value-added products. Aside from this, the company achieved its goal of becoming a reliable and one-stop shop for customers worldwide, providing products that support projects in strategic industries and are environmentally friendly.
