Rio Tinto will build a hydrogen pilot plant in Gladstone and replace natural gas with clean hydrogen at an alumina refinery. Sumitomo Corporation will assist with the project. The Slovenian aluminium producer Talum has secured a loan of EUR 15 million from SID Bank, the country's national export and development bank. This loan aims to support Talum in implementing environmentally friendly measures within its production processes. Specifically, Talum aims to enhance the sustainability of its products by augmenting the utilization of recycled aluminium.

Hydro announced on Wednesday, July 12, that its extrusion business unit in North America achieved Aluminium Stewardship Initiative Performance Standard V2 certification. Twenty-three of Hydro's hundred sites in the US and Canada obtained the certification after being audited by the independent, third-party firm DNV.

According to a report on Wednesday, July 12, Rio Tinto, an Anglo-Australian metals and mining group, will build a pilot hydrogen plant in Gladstone and retrofit an alumina refinery to replace natural gas use with clean hydrogen for the alumina refining process. It will be done with the help of Sumitomo Corporation, a leading Fortune 500 global trading and business investment company.
The Pennsylvania Beverage Association aims to modernise Pittsburgh's recycling program by investing $650,000 through its Every Bottle Back initiative.
