On July 11, 2023, the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) Minister Filomena Tassi, and Vance Badawey, Member of Parliament for Niagara Centre, announced a $1 million investment for Lintec Label and Print Solutions in Brantford.
The investment and a $500,000 contribution from Enterprise Brant will allow the company to purchase modern manufacturing equipment to produce eco-friendly, cost-effective packaging, including bags, pouches, and other solutions made from paper, aluminium foil, and bioplastics. This investment will also help the company improve its facilities, retrain current employees, and create eight new jobs in the Brantford community.

The $1 million investment will allow Lintec to establish a supply of standard and sustainable packaging for the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical sectors in Southern Ontario. Lintec will collaborate with Lambton College to develop new eco-friendly packaging options. The college will provide research to improve the overall recyclability, safety, reliability, and profitability of future packaging. The company currently serves over 200 clients, including Ferrero Canada, Bunzl Canada, and Farm Boy.
Vance Badaway commented: “This is great news for Brantford and for southern Ontario’s manufacturing sector. With this investment, Lintec is paving the way for our manufacturers to adopt more environmentally-friendly processes, while strengthening the supply chain and creating jobs.”
Minester Tassi, exclaimed: “Our strongest gift is our people. We have the potential and we can make possibilities turn into reality. This all leads to strong economic growth which is so important now in Canada as we traverse some very challenging times. Our government is investing in businesses like this one so you can build towards your dreams and continue to create made-in-Canada jobs that will remain here for years to come.
“We can grow our economy, create good jobs and fight climate change so that the future generations have a healthy planet to call home. We want to continue to make good investments in that potential to bring the possibility to a reality. With our strong, dedicated and talented workforce, we know that anything is possible,” the Minister clarified.
Although Lintec already follows an environmentally friendly process for the safe disposal of waste from its production process, the company welcomes further improvement. Tassi expressed her enthusiasm for continuing to support Canadian businesses and the economy.
