Some VND1.6 trillion to upgrade bauxite route

The Directorate for Roads of Vietnam under the Ministry of Transport has submitted to the Government a plan for upgrading the alumina transport route at an estimated cost of about VND1.6 trillion, or some US$770 million.
The bauxite route, linking the alumina factory Tan Rai in Lam Dong Province and Go Dau Port in Dong Nai Province, comprises of Provincial Road 725 in Lam Dong and National Highway 20 and Provincial Road 769 in Dong Nai. After inspection, transport officials concluded that the current condition of these roads is unsuitable for bauxite transport.
