SMM alumina price sees growth by RMB 15/t while A00 aluminium ingot price drops by RMB 170/t

According to the Shanghai Metal Market, the price of raw materials like alumina has again surged by RMB 15 per tonne, bringing the average price to RMB 4,058 per tonne. Also, in some regions, the alumina price is high, like in Shanxi, where the price has improved by RMB 25 per tonne to peg at RMB 4,125 per tonne. In Henan and Shandong, the average price is up by RMB 15 per tonne and RMB 20 per tonne to officiate at RMB 4,040 per tonne and RMB 4,030 per tonne. In both Guizhou and Guangxi, the average price has soared by RMB 10 per tonne to close at RMB 4,025 per tonne and RMB 4,035 per tonne.

The aluminium ingot market has been facing considerable fluctuation recently. The Shanghai Metal Market (SMM) A00 aluminium ingot price on September 26, 2024, registered at RMB 19,990 per tonne, declined by RMB 170 per tonne from the previous trading day. The average price is between RMB 19,970 per tonne and RMB 20,010 per tonne.

The price of low carbon aluminium has also decreased by RMB 215 per tonne to clock at RMB 20,819 per tonne. Again, the price of high purity aluminium (99.99% and 99.996%) diminished by RMB 200 per tonne, with an average of RMB 27,000 per tonne and RMB 28,000 per tonne.

Region-wise analysis:

All the provinces of China experienced a downfall after a huge surge the previous day. The average price has declined mainly by RMB 180 per tonne in Foshan to clock at RMB 19,810 per tonne. The second highest decline is by RMB 170 per tonne in provinces like Chongqing and Linyi, with an average of RMB 19,940 per tonne and RMB 19,990 per tonne. The average price is down by RMB 160 per tonne in Wuxi, Hangzhou and Shenyang. This brings the average price to RMB 19,990 per tonne in Wuxi, RMB 20,000 per tonne in Hangzhou and RMB 19,910 per tonne in Shenyang. In Gongyi and Tianji, the average price has dwindled by RMB 150 per tonne and RMB 60 per tonne, averaging at RMB 19,940 per tonne and RMB 20,000 per tonne.

Raw Material Prices:

The price of bauxite market remains unchanged at US$ 76.64 per tonne in case of imported bauxite. Interestingly, the domestic bauxite price has ascended by RMB 10 per tonne in both Guizhou (6.5<=AI/Si<7.5) and Guizhou (5.5<=AI/Si<6.5), pegging at RMB 550 per tonne and RMB 470 per tonne respectively.

Aluminium Alloy Ingot Prices:

The prices of various aluminium alloys also experienced a reduction on September 26, 2024. The price of aluminium alloys ingot (ADC12) across all regions like East, South, Southwest and Northeast has dropped by RMB 100 per tonne, averaging at RMB 20,600 per tonne in both east, south and southwest region, ranging between RMB 20,500 per tonne to RMB 20,700 per tonne and RMB 20,500 per tonne in northeast region, ranging between RMB 20,400 per tonne to RMB 20,600 per tonne. The price of aluminium alloy(A356) and alloy (A360) has also declined by RMB 150 per tonne with an average price of RMB 20,450 per tonne and RMB 20700 per tonne, fluctuating between RMB 20,300 per tonne to RMB 20,600 per tonne for (A356) and RMB 20,600 per tonne to RMB 20,800 per tonne for (A360). A380 aluminium alloy price has shrunk by RMB 100 tonne, settling at RMB 21,600 per tonne, averaging between RMB 21,500 per tonne to RMB 21,700 per tonne.
