SMM A00 aluminium price augments by RMB140/t today; Low-carbon aluminium earns RMB81/t

Today, the SMM aluminium price chart displays a noticeable increase of RMB 140 per tonne, with the price reaching RMB 18,770 per tonne. The average prices have circulated between RMB 18,750 per tonne and RMB 18,790 per tonne.

In the Second Half of 2023, the SMM A00 aluminium ingot prices were hovering around the average of RMB 18,500 per tonne, with the highest number recorded on September 28, when the price was RMB 19,850 per tonne.

By November 8, it fell by 3.12 per cent to settle at RMB 19,230 per tonne. There was a further slump of RMB 230 per tonne or 1.2 per cent by November 21, when the aluminium price stood at RMB 19,000 per tonne. From November 22 to December 13, there were intermediate drops in SMM aluminium prices, with a major hike recorded today on December 15.

China’s eight central provinces have all witnessed a surge in aluminium prices today, with aluminium prices rising the highest in Gongyi by RMB 150 per tonne, officially closing at RMB 18,880 per tonne. In Hangzhou, Chongqing and Tianjin, the aluminium prices have all augmented by RMB 140 per tonne to rest at RMB 18,770 per tonne, RMB 18,820 per tonne and RMB 18,800 per tonne. In Wuxi and Shenyang, there are uniform escalations of RMB 130 per tonne, with the prices stopping at RMB 18,780 per tonne and RMB 18,770 per tonne, respectively. The aluminium price in Linyi has gained RMB 120 per tonne, halting at RMB 18,900 per tonne. Lastly, in Foshan, the aluminium price has heightened by RMB 80 per tonne to fixate at RMB 18,890 per tonne.

The low-carbon aluminium price in China has increased by RMB 81 per tonne to finally close at RMB 19,633 per tonne.

The price of high-purity aluminium (99.99%) and the price of high-purity aluminium (99.996%) have both skyrocketed by RMB 150 per tonne to arrive at RMB 26,500 per tonne and RMB 27,500 per tonne, respectively.

The price of aluminium alloy (A356) has gone up the graph by RMB 150 per tonne, settling at RMB 19,450 per tonne, while the price of aluminium alloy (A360) and aluminium alloys (ADC12) have both levitated by RMB 100 per tonne to officially close at RMB 19,700 per tonne and RMB 19,550 per tonne.

China’s aluminium powder price has spiked by RMB 0.10 per kg to close at RMB 21.40 per kg, with the average prices ranging between RMB 21.30 per kg and RMB 21.50 per kg.
