Scandium International signs LOI with BAL for testing scandium alloys in casting applications

Scandium International Mining Corporation (SCY) has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Bronze-Alu Group (BAL) for mixing and trial-testing of scandium alloys in casting applications. The test work will be undertaken at BAL’s production facilities in La Couture-Boussey, at small production scale.

The LOI calls for the SCY to contribute aluminium-scandium master alloy 2%, for mixing and trial-testing of alloys by BAL, in their commercially available product lines. Bronze-Alu intends to report select results of the testing program utilizing their scandium-containing alloys, as does SCY, upon completion of the testing period, Scandium International Mining Corporation said.

BAL, based in La Couture-Boussey France, is a manufacturer of precision high-pressure die cast (HPDC) parts, and offers prototyping, machining, finishing and engineering services, employing both aluminium and copper-based alloys.
