RUSAL implements best practices in production management

RUSAL, one of the world's largest aluminium producers, has launched the development of its own Situational and Analytical Centre (SAC) – a unified dispatch centre for decision-making support and operational efficiency management that will encompass all company divisions. Such production management structures have already become best practices for major enterprises across various industries. They aim to enhance the quality and speed of managerial decision-making, which determines business efficiency and the competitiveness of the products produced.

RUSAL's centre will integrate the company's expertise, modern technologies, and data from various sources to monitor the current situation and provide predictive analytics for optimal managerial and production decisions in real-time.

"In the metallurgy industry, the application of centralised production management structures is especially relevant due to the complexity and specifics of the industry itself and the uniqueness of each stage of production. The creation of the centre is planned in three stages. Currently, infrastructure is being formed for data collection, systematisation, and processing, including the creation of a unified corporate data storage facility and the implementation, testing, and commissioning of software products and solutions for reporting visualisation, monitoring, and production analysis.

The second stage involves:

• Further development of monitoring tools.
• The creation of analysis models and algorithms.
• The development of forecasting methods to optimise production processes and support managerial decision-making.

The final stage of the Situational and Analytical Centre deployment will involve introducing artificial intelligence and expanding operational support for business and production management.

The formation and development of the Situational and Analytical Centre are part of RUSAL's digital transformation. Once fully deployed, the system will collect and process data from individual enterprises and divisions. This data will then be used to manage the company's entire financial and economic activities and business analytics.
