Residents urged to drop off aluminium cans for recycling

A drive to collect and recycle aluminium cans will be held on Saturday across the country.
Residents can take stockpiles of cans between 8:30am and noon in support of the campaign, organised by the Emirates Environmental Group. The event has been held since 1997 and has ensured that more than 150 metric tonnes of aluminium cans were recycled.
Once cans are collected they are melted and turned into metal bars. Recycled aluminium can be used to produce cars, plane parts and even new beverage cans For location details visit www.eeg-uae.org
