Alba executes VR training for 'Potline Emergencies' in collaboration with Atyaf eSolutions

Aluminium Bahrain embraces digital transformation by integrating Virtual Reality (VR) technology in five key areas for its in-house training courses. The initiative was carried out in collaboration with Atyaf eSolutions, and the signing ceremony was held on 12 July 2023.

The VR training will guide Alba employees with a safe and realistic platform to understand Potlines and how it functions, procedures that need to be followed when operating a potline, and actions to take during emergency cases such as tap out, open circuit, prolonged power outage, failure of alumina supply, and failure of compressed air supply.

The signing ceremony was conducted at Alba premises between Alba's Chief Executive Officer Ali Al Baqali and the Chairman of Atyaf eSolutions Ubaydli Y Ubaydli to celebrate the execution of the pilot project on VR training for 'Potline Emergencies'. Alba is widely recognised as one of Bahrain's premier technology-driven organisations, adopting cutting-edge digital technologies as part of its Industry 4.0 Transformational Journey.

As part of the agreement, Alba will proceed with the additional VR training projects with Atyaf Solutions after successfully delivering and assessing the 'Potline Emergencies' training. Risk management requires measuring health and safety performance at the facility, company, and sector levels. Companies' long-term prosperity is dependent on stable and productive workforce forces. As a result, limiting possible health risks is critical.
