Palm Recycling teams up with Alupro's 'MetalMatters' for recycling campaign

According to the recycling company the MetalMatters Campaign, which will run over the coming months, uses a combination of marketing communication tools, such as direct mail, local radio, outdoor advertising and web activity, to help explain and raise awareness, on a local level, of the importance of recycling metal.
The company added that all communications have been developed in partnership with the Council and include recent Road Show events in Southport and Bootle.
The messages focus on the 'transformation' that metal can undergo when recycled, using everyday household examples such as food cans and foil trays, to high value items.
Mandy Kelly, business development director at Palm Recycling explained: "Industry-led initiatives such as MetalMatters, play a pivotal role in raising awareness of the importance of recycling at a local level."
"Clear and concise communications focussing on the real reasons why we all have a role to play in recycling, are the essential building blocks to increasing recycling rates and meeting new Government recycling targets," she added.
Although it is still early days into the scheme, Palm Recycling said that it has seen a marked uplift in the amount of metal it is collecting via its kerbside collection service in the Borough of Sefton.
The company said that that services 124,000 households within the Borough of Sefton operating a weekly, source segregated scheme, collecting tins, cans, paper, glass, food waste and textiles.
According to Palm MetalMatters is the UK's latest and largest recycling programme, developed and funded by the metal packaging manufacturing industry, reprocessors and fillers.
The programme is supported by WRAP and managed on behalf of the funding partners by Alupro.
