Orders of Aluminum Mill Products increased in US & Canada

The Aluminum Association, in cooperation with the Aluminum Association of Canada reported that its “Index of Net New Orders of Aluminum Mill Products” increased 1.1 percent year over year in October in US and Canada.
Orders for flat roll products (sheet, plate, can stock and foil) declined nine-tenths of one percent while order receipts for extruded products rose 10.0 percent. Orders for drawing stock were off five-tenths of one percent from the previous month. Compared to the previous month, orders were up 11.9 percent over September. On average, year-to-date orders recorded by domestic producers through October 2013 were off 3.5 percent.
