NTPC, India’s largest power producer, currently has an overall installed capacity of 87,102 MW, covering conventional and renewable sources. In recent months, the group has steadily increased its renewable base by bringing multiple projects online in different states.
Earlier, the company operationalised 158.4 MW of solar capacity in Andhra Pradesh through its subsidiary. It also commissioned part of the Khavda Solar Park in Gujarat, contributing an additional 210 MW. In Rajasthan, another solar installation at Bhadla added 125 MW to the system.
In late 2025, NTPC Group added 404.68 MW of renewable capacity from projects in Rajasthan and Gujarat. By 2032, the company is targeting 60 GW of renewable capacity, constituting 45 per cent of the total renewable power generation capacity. The Dayapar wind project is a significant part of this broader effort, which guarantees that every new addition is gradually increasing the share of renewables in NTPC’s overall portfolio.
