
Novelis is showcasing its portfolio of cutting-edge automotive aluminium at Auto Shanghai 2021. The company is aiming to implement China’s first world-class closed-loop recycling system in Zhenjiang, to meet customers’ sustainability targets.

{alcircleadd}China’s automotive market is witnessing growth at a rapid rate despite ongoing pandemic. Sustainable and aluminium solutions from Novelis’ are helping key traditional automakers and electric vehicle start-ups launch new products.
On January 2021, Novelis completed the expansion of the Changzhou plant for its new heat treatment line, doubling the capacity to produce automotive aluminum products.
Novelis, which recently completed the expansion of the Changzhou plant, can now produce an additional 100,000 metric tons of aluminium sheets for the automotive market. Novelis in February signed a (MOU) with the Zhenjiang Jingkou Industrial Zone, in Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province to invest approximately US$300 million to expand its automotive aluminium capabilities and recycling operations at its Zhenjiang plant.
