Mining lease application (MLA) lodged for Urqu hart Bauxite Project

Metallica Minerals Limited and its Joint Venture partner, Ozore Resources Pty. Ltd. announces that the Mining Lease Application (“MLA”) for the Urqu hart Bauxite Project has been lodged with the Queensland Department of Mines and Natural Resources.
The MLA 100044 comprising 1,378 hectares covers the Urquhart Bauxite Resource (Area A and Area B) announced to the ASX on 11 May 2015.
The Joint Venture is undertaking an internal Conceptual Development Study and has also commenced environmental studies including the completion of a Wet Season Flora and Fauna Environmental Survey required as part of the Environmental Approval Process. Permitting, enviro nmental studies , Traditional Landowner meetings, technical evaluations and other work will continue into 2016, with the objective of achieving the grant of a Mining Lease as soon as possible, currently targeted in late 2016.
The Urquhart bauxite project is situated approximately 5 km south - west of Weipa on Queensland’s Cape York Peninsula. Western Cape York is world - renowned for its deposits of high - quality, export grade bauxite.
The recently completed Urquhart Bauxite Resource announcement (refer to ASX Release dated 11 May 2015) confirms that the major portion of the current resource is suitable for Direct Shipping Bauxite (DSB) that is planned to be trucked and then barged from one of three barge point options currently being evaluated; Urquhart Point, Hey Point (held by Green Coast Resources Pty Ltd) or from the north (Embley River access) side of the MLA and then transhipped to bulk carrier ships in the Weipa Port area.
The production of DSB allows the development of a bauxite mine - trucking - barging and transhipment operation with lower capital and lower operating costs.
