LME aluminium price plunged by US$45.50/t to close at US$2544/t; SHFE price settled lower at US$3071/t

Three-month LME aluminium edged down by 0.74 per cent to settle at US$ 2,544 per tonne on Thursday, August 19.

LME aluminium cash (bid) price and LME official settlement price continued to decrease for the third day in a row by US$ 45.50 per tonne or 1.76 per cent to come in at US$ 2,544 per tonne on Thursday, August 19. 3-months bid price and 3-months offer price shrank by US$ 39.50 per tonne from US$ 2,571.50 per tonne to US$ 2,532 per tonne. Dec 22 bid price and Dec 22 offer price hovered around US$ 2,503.50 per tonne, down by US$ 37 per tonne from US$ 2,540.50 per tonne on August 18.

LME aluminium opening stock declined from 1315125 tonnes to 1309700 tonnes. Live Warrants stood at 846400 tonnes, while Cancelled Warrants totalled 463300 tonnes.

LME aluminium 3-months Asian Reference Price settled at US$ 2,546.68 per tonne as of August 19.
